Greetings my fellow tokers,
Just about two years ago I made the switch from burning my flower to vaping dry herb. It was one of the best decisions because I stopped having such a sore throat and stopping horking up so much phlegm. Not to mention I feel the medical benefits from my weed so much better when I vape. Anyway, recently I bought an e-rig and starting smoking concentrates.. well now my sore throat is slowly coming back.
What do you guys use for your throat? I smoke anywhere from 4-10x daily depending on if I work or not. For those with e-rigs.. what temperature do you dab at? I was using 700F, but now I’m down to 600F. I might even go lower to see if I can find a sweet spot that is still potent without the sore throat.
Throw out what you do for your throats! I’m curious to hear what my fellow Canadians do... especially since its cold again.
Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
2At 600-700F you are combusting. You can vape concentrates at 300-400F and it's much easier on the throat.
Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
4Yo, I like to use concentrates once in a while too, generally I use budder though since I can toss it into one of my vaporizers (it has a wax cup). I haven't messed with any shatter because it seems inconveniently fragile. If I smoke anything, I drink water with it the whole way through, take a hit, take a sip. I just vape concentrates, usually I go around 380-420, boom, no sore throat. I do NOT have iron lungs!
Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
5Hmm.. I guess I do have to keep the temps below 450F.
Wouldn’t that compromise the potency though? I just recently started using concentrates.. I’m not that knowledgeable yet :p

Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
6Well I have no experience with a table e-nail, so not sure how they work. I'm using a sai on a pico and I start at 280 for taste then ramp up in 20 degrees increments until 350ish to finish the dab. Anything past the 1st increment tastes much less interesting, but it's very potent. By the time it starts tasting too bad, there is almost nothing left in the bowl. Live resin I'm smoking has almost no residue... Shatter leaves a bit of a trace, but seriously, I'm getting stoned as fuck with just about nothing.Vdubb wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 8:29 pm Hmm.. Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
7Same, all concentrates I've tried have vaporized with almost no residue and I've gotten higher than my experiments with combusting them, because I don't lose smoke. My high end there's not much taste, but it vaporizes smooth and it's very potent. I can go through a scoop or two on the end of a dabber and get high.
I figure just mess with it until you find something that works for you with your equipment? Now that you know it'll still work at a lower temp.

Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
8Thanks for the tips guys.. I suppose it’s time to mess around with low-temps. For whatever reason I was under the impression that under 400F would be less potent.
Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
9Nah, if it all gets vaporized/burnt off it's all the same strength of product you're inhaling, the only difference is in how easy it is on your squishy meat lungs. With extract what matters is how well the makers did in creating the product. Temperature matters more with activating specific effects in herb, where burning it will be a different high than vaporized because it's getting all the matter versus only what boils off.
Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
10I mean it's going to take you significantly longer to go through the same dab at lower temps... High temp dabs just all burn in a manner of seconds, whereas the same dab at low temp can last 10-15 or even more pulls. You can def get fucked with low temp, lol, I can assure you. A grain of rice makes my night.Vdubb wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 9:05 pm Thanks for the tips guys.. I suppose it’s time to mess around with low-temps. Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
11RSO is the only way to go! I smoked cannabis only for over 35 years, now I’ve been vaping for over 4. It’s still hard on you throat and lungs. I can’t vape enough to feel pain relief and anxiety free anymore. I keep preaching the benefits of rso to relieve pain ,anxiety and to give our lungs a rest. You can make your own RSO even from your already vaped weed. It’s so worth it! Next order you make get a syringe of Weed oil and take it slow it’s so worth it.
Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
12You're not wrong. I have some, I just usually only use it topically. Everyone should have it in their medicine cabinet for burns and the like!
Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
13I noticed an improvement with my lungs and breathing when I started low temperature dabs. The concentrate quality itself can make a difference as well.
Low temp dabbing can actually be more potent as a slower decarb will potentially convert more THCA into that maximum possible 87.7% THC. Bubbling indicates the 12.3% of CO2 being released but if it gets too hot and burns some THC converts into unwanted carcinogens instead. One reason I prefer dropping in a cold quartz bucket into a hot banger is the dab slowly increases in temp from ambient to low, medium, and potentially up to high before leveling off again.

Re: Daily smokers.. how do you soothe your throat?
17The Pico/Sai combo (140$ at herbcafe.ca) can handle pretty much all forms of concentrates right out of the box and it's amazing, can't recommend it enough!!! Fully adjustable, can handle carts too, there are lots of things you can hook to it ad well (refillable carts, herb vapes, etc).Jcola wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 10:09 am My throats actually fucked right now from smoking to much. I'm looking to try out vaping distillate or something but i dont know where to start with that. Can anyone recommend a good refillable vape system to use with distillate or similar
Stopped smoking joints since I got that thing...
